You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you
so that you might go and bear fruit
— fruit that will last —
and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.
This is my command: LOVE EACH OTHER.
Torrance Church of the Nazarene is a great place for you and your family to call home. With a history almost as long as the City of Torrance itself, our church has been in the South Bay for over eighty years. Our heart is our community; we are so glad you found us!

We praise God that both our county and state have recently lifted the stay at home restrictions. We are not only rejoicing because we want to be together again and because we are longing for a sense of normalcy again, but because we hope and pray that this is the beginning of the end of the pain and suffering that this virus has brought.
You may be asking: So are the doors to the church just flying open? Is it back to business as usual? Well, that is complicated. There is a lot that we have to do before the doors can open in any capacity. The church board and the staff have worked hard to come up with a plan that will allow us to meet again on Sunday mornings while satisfying all of the guidelines that have been given to us by the General Church of the Nazarene, the federal government, the state of California, the county of Los Angeles, and the city of Torrance.
This decision was not made lightly. After a lot of prayer and consideration, here is our plan to open our building for church gatherings starting on Sunday, June 14. Things may look a little different to you, so we wanted to make you aware of what you can expect:
•We understand that not everyone is comfortable gathering together right now. That’s ok. If that is you, please continue to worship with us online only. We will continue to post videos weekly. We value you as a member of our congregation and respect your decision.
•For now, we will only be gathering for our 10:30am service. The doors to our building will not open until 10:15am to minimize exposure risk. Please enter on the south side of the building, through the double doors. If you require a ramp to enter, your family may use the doors on the north side of the building.
•Your temperature will be taken by a volunteer using a touchless thermometer.
•Face masks must be worn at all times including worship, prayer, and sermon.
•Families should sit together and maintain a distance of 6+ feet. Some seats will be unavailable in order to keep families spaced appropriately. Additionally, children will remain in sanctuary; no children’s church or nursery care will be provided.
•No food or beverages are allowed on the premises before, during, or after services.
•Please help limit exposure by washing hands thoroughly and using hand sanitizer.
•If you have had any coronavirus related symptoms, or if you have been exposed to anyone with coronavirus, please stay home.
During our absence from the building we suffered water damage to the sanctuary from a burst pipe, causing a pool of water to gather under the stage. We have begun the remediation and repair process, but there is a chance that we will meet outside for our Sunday services for a few weeks. Please bring a sweater and/or hat to accommodate weather fluctuations if our services are moved outside. We have put in place methods to implement all of the above procedures if that should occur.
Additionally, the church office will re-open by appointment only. Please call us or email us if you need to meet with any of the pastors or staff. These guidelines will be re-evaluated regularly as updated information is made available to our church leadership. If you cannot meet these requirements, please continue to join us for online services only. God bless you, we love you, and we will see you soon!
